On behalf of our children, I am writing to you today.
Saint Anthony of Padua School has been educating children in the Marpole neighbourhood since 1960. But we have been operating all these years without a gym.
We rent space from the nearby Scottish Cultural Centre, and the children walk over to the Centre for their physical education activities, in the rain or the snow.
As you can imagine, this is far from ideal for our children.
Our school-parish community has been fund raising for a school gym for many years, and just last month, we were granted the development permit from the City. We hope to break ground and start construction as early as next year!
Because we are so close to making this dream a reality, and for the first time, we are reaching out for help beyond our school-parish community.
Will you help us?
No donations would be too small for this unique boutique school of one grade, one class. Our K – 7 students travel from all over the Greater Vancouver areas because parents want their children to receive a good education.
Will you help us in our efforts in providing greater classroom space, and a proper physical education facility for these young people?
Our school receives no government funding for capital expenses, and we rely entirely upon the generosity of our parishioners and the sacrifices of our parents. Our efforts in being self-sufficient has saved B.C. taxpayers millions of dollars.
With the dramatic increase in construction costs, what has been possible to do in the past without outside sources of help is becoming increasingly difficult. That is why we are asking for your help today.
All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the many ways you can give.
Are you able to help give all our children a gym?
With sincere gratitude,
Michael Perry
Principal
